National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 2nd at 12:00 noon. Please join Mayor Lamar Fisher as we gather around the flag pole in front of Pompano Beach City Hall on the 62nd anniversary of National Day of Prayer.

PBHS BOOSTER 7TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

Pompano Beach High School Booster Club is holding their 7th Annual Golf Tournament on May 4th at the Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course. Registration at 7:30 a.m. and Tee off is 8:30, shot gun start; with lunch, raffles, live and silent auctions immediately following at Galuppi's Restaurant. Proceeds benefit Athletic Scholarships and team sports. Come out and support the Pompano Beach High School Tornadoes Booster Club.

Derby Day Fun Horse Show & Fair at Sand & Spurs Equestrian Park

The City of Pompano Beach and the Bit-by-Bit Therapeutic Riding Center will hold the Third Annual Derby Day Fun Horse Show & Fair at the Sand & Spurs Equestrian Park, Saturday, May 4, 2013 [10:00 AM-2:30 PM]. Take a hayride. Ride a pony. Get a face paint. Eat .Toss a ball to win a goldfish. Pet a horse. Win a prize at one of our unique games. Make a Mother's Day gift and much more. Watch fun horsey games in the main ring. Halftime show includes drill teams, BSO Sheriff's Posse. $1 Gate Admission 10 years and older. Sponsors and vendors welcome. Proceeds benefit Bit-by-Bit's Horses for Heroes Veteran Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Riding Programs held at the Sand & Spurs Equestrian Park.

Music Under the Stars

The Pompano Beach Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts department invites you to join them for an evening of music under the stars featuring 'Music Muscle'. The band plays classic rock like The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and other party rock favorites. The music kicks off at 7:00 p.m. at Atlantic Boulevard & Pompano Beach Boulevard (on the 'Great Lawn').

Music Under the Stars is a monthly reoccurring event scheduled for the 2nd Friday of every month.

On Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 5:30-7:30, ArtHall has the honor to display the newly finished pieces of art created on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Broward Art Guild's annual Quick Draw. The Wednesday, May 15th reception will include refreshments from Bella Roma and By Their Fruits. Musical guests will be Just The Quartet, a local jazz group originating right here in Pompano Beach. ArtHall creatively combines business and art in the beautifully renovated space at the Pompano Beach CRA Business Resource Center located at 50 NE 1st Street. The public is encouraged to visit the Business Resource Center, during business hours, Monday through Friday to enjoy the artwork for the duration of each exhibit. Annual Tree Givaway

The City of Pompano Beach is sponsoring the free tree give-away program by giving out thousands of native trees to the Pompano Beach community. The City of Pompano Beach will give away two trees per residence on a first come, first serve basis. The free tree giveaway will be at the City Nursery at 1000 N.E. 3 Avenue, which is on the corner of NE 3rd Avenue and 10th Street. The trees are as follows:

Palms:
Triangle Palm, Fox Tail Palm, Queen Palm

Trees:
Gumbo Limbo, Mahogany, Jamaican Dogwood, Strong Bark, Simpson's Stopper, Crape Myrtle, Royal Poinciana and Cassia.
